Pictures from Easter...

Here are the promised pictures!  I realized as I was getting this blog post ready that I should have gotten a picture of the girls standing in their dresses.  You can't really see them when they are sitting...Oh well!  It won't be the last time they wear them.

We also had an egg hunt.  The girls had a blast!

Peterette was busy hiding eggs...after all she is THE bunny!

What a beautiful day!

My husband is AMAZING!!!

Anyone who knows me and has spent any time at my house, knows that our dining room chairs have seen better days.  Especially in the last month or so, one was really starting to fall apart.  We were already down to three and it wasn't going to be long before we were down to two...not that those two were going to be standing long either.  We had just come to the realization this past weekend that we needed to be looking into chairs sooner, rather than later.
Tuesday Doug was in Ithaca.  I get a text message with a picture of these chairs...$10 a piece!  I told him to see if he could get 4 of them.  When he went back to pick them up, they were a special ticket color so we got 4 for $30!  I'm super excited and I love them!!!

To top it all off, the seat cushion is a wipeable material!  Absolutely perfect!
Thanks Hun ;)

More surprises...

We had an awesome weekend...which I'll have a post on that soon, but the reason why I didn't post yesterday is because Doug was home!  I woke up a little before 6:30 and realized Doug was still in bed and I thought he had to be at the office which means he leaves at 5am.  I quick woke him up and he played along.  He asked what time it was, acted annoyed that he had overslept, then rolled back over and announced that since he is already late he isn't going to work.  I was very confused and thought he was still sleeping so I tried again.  That's when I got the wonderful news that Dairy One had given him Monday off!  We had a great day, and I'm so thankful for a company that looks out for us instead of them first.  God is good!

Grandma and Grandpa's Part Two

Yesterday I talked about my parents and how thankful I am for their thoughtfulness.  Doug's parents are no different.  I hear so many people complain about their in-laws, but I, for one, am very grateful!  Grandma has been teaching the girls to crochet for a while.  She searched for some easy patterns for them to work on.  While doing so she ran across some really cute patterns that she wanted to try.
These two turned out super cute!
Madalyn's...

Marissa's...

She is so talented!

God certainly is good to us!

Grandma and Grandpa's Part One....

The girls are blessed with some pretty special grandparents.  They are even more blessed that they have two sets!  Neither Doug nor I had both complete sets growing up, so I think its pretty special that they do.  Anyhow, Tuesday we got a package in the mail for the girls.  I told them they could wait until Saturday when Grandma and Grandpa Geiger got here and open it with them, and although they were ok with that idea, they weren't thrilled.  LOL  So we called to see what they wanted to do.  They decided to skype with us so they could watch.

Boo Boo Bunnies!  We had these growing up!

I love the thoughtfulness that goes into each package and the memories that come with them.
I'm so thankful for grandma and grandpas!
Stay tuned tomorrow for another grandparents post! :)

Poor Chloe

Yesterday, the dogs had their vet appointment.  Both checked out great, thankfully!
We are having a horrible lyme year already this year, so I went ahead and did the lyme vaccine for both dogs.  They changed it up this year, and I'm loving the sound of it.  Anyhow, if anyone knows Chloe, she takes it all.  Nothing bothers her, she has the pain tolerance of a saint...she is amazing.  The vet said that the vaccine might be a little more painful afterwards, than it had been in previous years.  I wasn't too concerned, but I do have Metacam here at the house if I needed it.
Well, last night, we went to go to bed and Chloe couldn't get up on the bed.  :(  I picked her up and heard her whine just a bit.  I let her be for the night since we were going to bed.  This morning I woke up and she must have been sleeping real sound, with really shallow breathing, because when I put my hand on her side, I couldn't feel her breathing at all and panicked!  I shook her gently and scared the crud out of her!  Poor thing couldn't go back to sleep after that!  Her heart was just a thumping!  Whoops :(
She is moving like an old lady this morning...poor thing.  I went ahead and gave her some metacam so she isn't low on patience today with not feeling 100%.  Hopefully she will feel better tomorrow!

Little Mommies

I absolutely love how awesome of "mommies" my two girls are already.  I just need to be careful because they are little copy cats!  This time is was a good thing :)
Practicing baby wearing at an early age!

They are going to make great mommies, and more importantly right now, great big sisters!

Coolest shirts EVER!

For Christmas, Grandma and Grandpa Geiger gave the girls these shirts.  They are special color changing shirts.  Honestly they haven't had a chance to wear them yet since they are short sleeves and it needs the suns rays to change them.

Sunday was fairly warm out, so the girls asked if they could wear them to church.  We were all super amazed at how fast they change in both directions!  The girls absolutely LOVE them!
Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Geiger!!!

We are not alone...

I think sometimes as Christians, at least for me, I struggle with feeling alone.  Alone even in the Christian realm, but especially in the world we live in.  Doug was blessed this morning and he shared it with me, so I thought I would share it with you!
He is in PA this week, and this morning, as he was getting breakfast, he started small talk with another man that was behind him.  Doug finished getting his food, went and sat, prayed, and then began to eat.  The gentleman behind him in line and his wife sat down and prayed before they ate as well.  In the end, they ended up sitting at the same table and talking for a bit.  The couple prayed for Doug before he left for work.  It might not seem like much, but to me that was a blessing to hear.  I wasn't even there, but to know that they cared enough to pray for my husband really touched me.  I hope I can be that person for someone else someday.
Definitely a great way to start the day!
I hope you have a great one!

Time change...

I remember when the kids were little the time change was always tough on them.  As they have grown, it hasn't been that big of a deal.  Talking with other parents, that seems to be a common thing.  This year was no different.  The girls handled it with no problems and have continued on like nothing changed.  Doug and I on the other hand...
Is it a thing for adults as we get older to be affected more than we used to?  I got up with Doug this morning to get him ready to head out for the week, and usually I'm up for good.  This morning I crawled back in bed and actually fell back asleep for another 2 hours!  I just called Doug to see how his drive was going and he is struggling as well.  Hopefully we can both get caught up tonight!
I've got a bunch of odds and ends to do today.  Some phone calls, emails, yada yada.  So I'm off and running.  I hope you have a great Monday!

70 degrees!!!

Unbelievable!!!

The girls finished school by 11, and we scooted outside right away.  I cleaned up the winter dog piles :/, while Marissa swept some of the driveway.  Madalyn helped by sifting the rocks from the sand so we can reuse the sand again next year!  They are frugal for sure! ;)
Unfortunately with having the two little ones outside, plus trying to get something done, I didn't get any pictures of our first day out.  We still have a little snow hanging around, but if we keep having temps like that, it won't be around long!  I'm loving this weather, but trying to keep in mind that it is only the middle of March.  We probably still have another snow storm in the system before spring is here for good.  I kind of hope I'm wrong, but at least I'm prepared.  It sure does make for the antsy feeling to be in full swing!

Saturday Adventures...

Saturday we took the day and headed to Syracuse with some friends and Doug's parents.  The camper show was being held at the fair grounds down there and they expanded into 4 buildings this year.  No, we are not upgrading or trading our camper in! ;)  I love to look.  I love the ideas you can get from other campers.  There are also vendors there as well that have camping supplies.  We actually walked away without spending much of anything...we did buy 2 packs of toilet paper.  LOL  We had a blast though!  The kids were terrific and we didn't have any meltdowns.  I was very impressed especially since we had 6 in tow and we did a TON of walking.  Doug's brother and his wife met us later in the day, and we all went to dinner.  It was really nice to just get out and away from the house.  We didn't have any pulls of responsibility...it was nice for a change.  Two of our teens came and let the dogs out for us so we didn't even have to worry about them.
I can't wait for our next outing out with them!

Youth Group for March

I don't know why I always stress about youth group.  I always want to come up with something super fun, new and exciting so our teens aren't bored and want to keep coming back.  I shouldn't be worried...lol  Doug's sister Laurie sent us an awesome idea a couple nights before youth group and since we had everything we needed to play, we planned on that.  I needed cloths for the teams to play the game and this is how youth group started out...

See, why do I stress again?  ;)
This was the actual game that we planned....

When we got too tired to move anymore after playing Tic Tack Toe, we played the "newspaper" game.  I don't know who invented that game, but the teens love beating on each other!  LOL
The devotion was super good and I think the teens got a lot from it.  All in all it was an awesome night and I can't wait for next month!

Very Scary...

... Did you know that vacuum cleaners are super scary???  I finally got motivated today and cleaned my house.  Marissa was doing her school work and Madalyn was keeping the extra kiddos busy.  Lily has been afraid of my vacuum for a while now, so as soon as I pulled it out of closet, she ran for the chair!

Madalyn joined her and "made her feel safer by adding a seat belt"
(How cute is that???)

John used to follow me around the house, but I don't know he has learned that it is scary from Lily or what, but he is now terrified of it as well.  It wasn't long before I was too close the high chair and he needed to be saved as well.  They had to move to the couch for more room.

I laughed because as soon and the vaccum turned off, Lily hollared "ALL DONE!"  and she was all smiles again.  She has absolutely NO issues with it once it is unplugged.

John on the other hand was not going to get that close...

...and the biggest chicken of all was brave enough to come out of her kennel!  LOL

Anyone else have kids afraid of the vacuum?

It's going to be a great day!

I found out this morning that my husband is working from home today!
He had a dentist appointment this morning and instead of heading to the office after, he is just going to work from here.  I enjoy the days that I can spoil him all day long.  Even though he is working, it's just nice to have him here.
The girls were very surprised when he headed to Lowville for his appointment and he didn't take his truck.  They were all worried!  I didn't want to spoil his surprise.  I can't wait to see their faces when the realize we get him all day!

Thankful for new friends...

Especially come this time of year, the girls and I have had enough of the winter, being cooped up, and being just the three of us.  I'm not the best at being able to get out and about, even when my own sanity needs it.  Between babysitting, homeschooling, and things to do around here, its just a lot.  This year, the Lord blessed me by bringing a friend/friends into our lives that lives just a couple miles from me.  Our kids might vary in age a bit, but the all play together so well.  I've learned to realize that I'm not as crazy as I thought, or at least I'm not alone in it, and it's really nice to have an adult to talk to.  The girls aren't near as cooped up feeling at this point in time as they usually would be.  I'm thankful that God knew exactly what I needed, and provided it.  I'm extremely thankful for that friendship.
I know I have said this before, but every time something like this happens, I'm almost surprised.  Seeing as this isn't the first time God has seen the desire of my heart and provided, you would think I would be more trusting in the fact that He is looking out for my best.
One of these days I might learn!!!

Spring?

This has been one of the craziest winters ever!  We have next to no snow... just a light dusting, it's not terribly cold, and we have had more rain over the past two weeks than anything else!  Thankfully most of the water has dissipated, and our pump has only run a couple of times.  Talking to mom last night, we are supposed to get close to a foot of snow this week!  LOL
We are laying low today.  Yesterday we ran to Watertown and did some shopping at Sam's Club and then went to a friends' house to hang out for a bit.  Molly was happy for some company last night.  Today we are back in full swing with school!  So far so good!  I have a bunch of catching up to do around here as well.  We have a busy weekend ahead of us with a bunch of pictures coming, so I'm excited about that.  That also means I have to get all my grown up stuff done now.  :)  I hope you all have a great day!
