Extremely meaningful gift...

Doug got me a necklace this past month that means the world to me.  It has disks with all the kiddos that we have had the honor of being a part of their lives.  I love getting up in the morning, putting it on, and praying for each kiddo.

I couldn't get a great picture of it, but this is what it actually looks like!

The new baker in the house....

Every Saturday, Marissa has been getting busy in the kitchen.  We usually get to try out a new recipe of some sort.  We've had applesauce muffins, apple fritter bread, old fashioned donut bread...I can't remember what else.  I'm proud of her and she does an amazing job!!!  We don't complain a bit being her guinea pigs either! ;)

They are sooo big!

When did this happen???

P.S.  I believe this is the last picture I have with Madalyn in her glasses that she has been sporting for the past 3ish years!  She decided that she thinks she is all done wearing them.  I have mixed feelings about it, but I've kept them to myself!  haha

Spoiled animals...

The girls are super responsible and take great care of their animals.  In the end we have some spoiled rotten animals around here!

Peterette got a bath because she was "dirty"

Marissa thought Beaker needed her own bed to sleep in while sleeping in Marissa's bed!
(Did that make any sense? haha)

Peterette got cleaned up from the hair that she is shedding currently

She is rediculous!  I can't believe what she puts up with!
I love my girls!!!

Super Science Saturday!

Doug's Dad saw an advertisement somewhere for this at Jefferson Community College, and so we made a game plan to spend the day there.  It was amazing!  Far more to do than we had time for, and the kids LOVED it!
The laser light show was a hit for sure.  The teacher for this "class" was extremely good with kids and very easy to listen to and follow.  Doug and I sat in the back with the baby, but if you look close you can see the crew 4 rows down from us.

They made flashlights, got glow in the dark paper, learned about robots and many cool things including this....

Maggot painting...

They had a mixture of, "Hey this is really cool!" and "Ewww, this is really gross!"
Uncle Kenny kept coming up behind them and lightly touching them and giving them the willies!
The girls already can't wait to go back next year!

It's been a while!

Sorry for the break!  Life has been crazy!  I don't know that I'm going to be able to commit to a blog every day, but I'm going to try my hardest to be a little more on top of things around here!  I've missed you guys!
The girls and I headed to my parents the beginning of February to take a breather.  Doug was out of town and sitting at the house just wasn't cutting it.  The girls had a blast playing with Graysen and my dad was even home!  Hide and go seek was the hit of the day for sure...

He was so confused!

Grandpa had the best hiding places...

Madalyn and Graysen's turn to count...

It was so nice to just get away.  I got addicted to Raspberry Zinger Tea while I was there, we played so many games, and had a lot of laughs!
We love you both!

Happy Birthday Mom!

I wish I could be there with you this morning to have birthday "hot coco" (even if I don't like it!).  Thanks for being you.  I used to think it was odd growing up when people said their mom was their best friend, but I totally get it now!  Thanks for always being there for me.  I feel very blessed to call you my mom.  I love you!  I hope you have an amazing day!!!

An update on us...

This have definitely changed around here since August when we officially started having a little one in care.  It's been different, but good.  Doug told someone the other night  that our little one has been a huge blessing to us and it's so true!  I think all 4 of us have learned something in this journey.
Everyone is adapting to our new normal really well.  Marissa and Madalyn haven't skipped a beat and are doing great with their school...amidst some challenges that 7th grade has brought with it.  Even the animals have grown fond of another little one and are no longer startled by the new noises and such.  Doug and I are both starting to sleep through the night again ;)  We have been getting roughly 7-8 hour stretches at night, sometimes even 10.  I'm trying not to get used to it in case it doesn't stick around.
Thank you all for the thoughts, prayers, and items.  We have been so blessed by clothes, toys, blankets, finances, babysitting...God is good!  Thank you all!  We couldn't do this alone!  Not a day goes by that we don't think about how blessed we really are.

A handmade blanket to snuggle

A basket of toys

Then last week I received this package in the mailbox.  Seriously brought tears to my eyes.  She is such a blessed little girl, who has impacted so many lives at such a young age.  We feel very blessed to be a part of this!

Chloe's Bi-Annual Strip

I'm always so surprised by how much actually comes off her!

I thinks she actually lost real weight this time!!!  HAHA

She always acts like a puppy again when she gets stripped.  If she actually does drop as much as it looks like she does, I guess I can understand why!!!  It's nice to have a puppy back again instead of the yak I've been living with!
