Reluctently back :)

I don't even know where to start!  What an awesome week we had!  It was almost too good because neither Doug, nor I, were ready to leave!  I have a ton of pictures and such to share, but for now, we are just getting back into the swing of things.  The laundry is caught up, dishes are done and house is cleaned!  I'm feeling very accomplished so far!  Today is our first day back into reality! ;)  We started school this morning, and babysitting started back up.  So far its been a great day!  Tomorrow I'll have more on our trip and pictures!  For now we are just getting things figured out!  I hope you guys have an awesome day!

Crazy Week...

This is the last week free before babysitting and school starts back up.  So we are taking advantage of it and heading to Ithaca with Doug.  It is going to be an interesting trip for sure.  We are taking the 2 dogs, Beaker and Peterette.  LOL  We will see how this goes!  I'm excited to spend some time down with him though.  We haven't had a chance to do as much traveling with him as I initially hoped to do this summer.  With him being all over it's hard planning ahead and knowing these things.
In other news, Peterette did something to her leg yesterday.  She lets me touch it and all without seeming to be in pain but she holds it out and won't hop on it.  I'm thinking she pulled a muscle.  We are going to wait it out for about a week and see how she does.  She is still eating and drinking and climbing her ramp so she seems to be fine.  She just doesn't want to move around a whole lot.  The girls are worried about her of course and can't wait until she is back to feeling like herself.
Well I'm off.  I've got to do some shopping today and pack stuff for when we leave.  I'm not sure that I will be able to blog much this week.  I may be able to put one up via my phone, but if not...here is your warning! ;)  I hope you all have a great week!

New glasses

So after giving her glasses a break for a while for multiple reasons, I recently took Marissa in to have a recheck on her eyes.  Her original glasses had broke and the eye doctor had told us she probably wouldn't need them longer than a year.  Since she wasn't complaining anymore we just let her be.  In the past month or so, she has really started complaining that she can't see so we made another appointment.  Her prescription definitely changed for the worse and she is actually only a step away from needing bi-focals.  For now we are fine.  He said if she started complaining about reading to bring her back in, otherwise he wants to see her next year.  She picked out a new pair of frames and I love them!  She looks really good in glasses!

Madalyn has really started reading in the past week.  :)  I love my girls!

New addition :)

Remember a month or so back when I did a post on the cookies that saved the bunnies' life?  "Peterette" was going to live at Kenny and Laurie's, but she belonged to the girls.  Well a couple weeks ago that changed.  I got soft, I'll admit.  Doug had been ok with her coming to the house for a while, but I was not sold on the idea.  I caved finally LOL  and we surprised the girls by taking them on a shopping trip to buy supplies.  Once her hutch came in, we got everything ready and went and picked her up.

She is one spoiled bunny, but the girls love her and are doing a great job at taking care of her.  Doug and I help out once in a while, but overall they have everything under control.  So far Beaker hates her, Chloe thinks she is food and Molly wants to play with her.  LOL  We figure over time everyone will adjust, but for now its just easy enough to keep everyone separated.
Welcome home Peterette!

Comp time...

When Doug got back from his 2 weeks gone, Dairy One gave him some comp time.  We gladly accepted! :)  Doug wanted to lay low for the most part, but he did want to take the girls to do something big at some point during that time.  We settled on going to Bolt Castle.  I'd never been and Doug hadn't been there in a long time.  I'm glad we went.  The girls got a little tired of it, but what an amazing story and the buildings were incredible!

The boat house...we started here and then took a boat over to Heart Island.

Look at this ceiling!

There were a couple rooms like this...someday they will be finished but for now they house supplies.

I'd love to go back again a few years down the road when the kids have a better appreciation for these type things and see what else is done!

Doug's arrival!

Wednesday when I got up, I had a crazy thought.  Even though Doug had driven himself to the airport and therefore had a ride home, I thought it would be fun for the girls and I to make the trip down there and surprise him.  I quickly shoved it out of my head since his flight wasn't supposed to come in until almost 10pm.  Thursday when Doug's mom rode in with the girls and I to go to Marissa's eye appointment, we got talking about Doug's arrival home.  I told her I had thought about it, but his flight came in so late.  She wasn't worried about that at all and said that her and Dad would drive the girls and I out and then I could ride home with Doug.  I got so excited!  Then the fun began.  I didn't think it was smart to head for Syracuse without having some more information on Doug's flight other than it came in around 10.  I didn't even know where that flight was coming from.  I didn't have any of Doug's coworkers' numbers which made it a littler harder.  Then I remembered I had one of his coworkers' email address.  She had helped us look for houses in that area.  So I emailed her and asked for either Matt (Doug's coworker's) or John (Doug's boss') number so I could get information from them.  She emailed me back shortly and said she had already talked to John and he was expecting to hear from me.  He said he didn't have the information with him at the time and it was after office hours so he asked if he could get it to me first thing in the morning.  I assured him that would be perfect.  I then saved his number for future reference!  LOL  I might have to be sneaky again!  Of course shortly there after Doug offered me his flight itinerary so that I could keep track of him.  So Friday night we all headed out.  The girls had never been to an airport and they had a blast.  I'm really glad there was stuff to do because Doug's flight ended up being there a half hour late!

Syracuse airport has a cockpit set up with a flight tower next to it for you to check out.  The kids LOVED it!  Madalyn crashed her plane many times! ;)

We got to watch his flight land with the help of one of the employees there.  We quickly went up and hid along side the wall he would be coming out of.  He sent me a text and told me he had landed.  I told him I was really tired and didn't think I was going to be able to stay up and thatI knew he was disappointed, but I would see him in a couple hours.  I know, I'm bad!  When he came through the tube things, I hollered out his nickname that only two of us have ever called him.   I knew it would get his attention.  It did!  Although it took him a minute to process everything!  I'm so grateful for the opportunity to be able to do this!  It was so worth it!
