Marissa's latest creation...

 Meet "Pumpkin" the dragon ;)

Marissa did a phenomenal job!  Grandma Benedict helped her out a little bit, but Marissa did most of it by herself by following the pattern.  Madalyn became the proud owner and couldn't be happier!  I'm so proud of Marissa and her talent and willingness to learn!

Madalyn said he needed wings...

So she added a butterfly that Marissa made her
to his back that she can remove anytime she wants to.

Of course "Pumpkin" needed food, so Grandma Benedict whipped up these fruits and vegetables to put in Madalyn's picnic basket that she had!  LOL

He is all set!

Working hard!

The girls are still working hard on their instruments.  They have made so much improvement!  I can't wait until they both know the same song and we can video them playing together :)

Hello Strangers :)

I'm sorry it's been so long!  Honestly, I'm struggling with my blog.  I feel like our lives are so divided right now...one that I can share publicly on here for all my family and friends, and one that we can not put on social media.  I'm trying to find a balance, but I'm not sure I'm being very successful.  I have contemplated making my blog private, but I'm not sure if I feel 100% sure that it is secure and no one can get to it.  I don't know what I'll do, but for now, thanks for bearing with me as I figure out our new normal!

The girls and I did some garden work the other day.  They were soooo helpful!  We got just about all of our peppers washed, cut, and packaged for the freezer in one night.  I'm so thankful for their willingness to help without even being asked!
Doug and I are definitely blessed to call them ours!

Fort Rickey

Saturday we took a trip to Fort Rickey.  This place is definitely the girls favorite place to go.  I wasn't great with the camera :( but I did get some!  I was enjoying myself too much apparently!
We got to meet this little guy...

He is so cute!

Onto the goats....

....and a random chicken that looks like she is wearing pajama pants!

This mama kept trying to find someone that would pet her belly...she is so full!  Can you tell what side her baby is sitting? LOL
I'm kicking myself for not pulling my camera out for the end of the day "class" that the girls sat in on.  The owner sat down at a picnic table with the girls (they were the only ones that showed) and taught them about owl pellets.  He had a skeleton of a mouse and they dissected the pellets, separating out the hair and the bones to try and put the skeletons back together.  So cool...once the girls got over the "grossness".  LOL  The owner kept telling them "Its not gross!  We aren't playing with owl poop, it's just throw up!"  He is so amazing!  We appreciate the fact that not only do we get to see the animals and play on the play equipment there, but the owner is phenomenal with children and has a a great teaching ability!  If you ever get the chance to go, do it!  You won't regret it!

1st day of school!

I can't believe we are at the 1st day of school already?
Marissa is in 7th grade this year!  Again...how???

Madalyn is in 5th grade!  (I'm feeling old!)

Madalyn has decided she would like to work at the table with her sister this year.
So far it is working out great.

I'm really proud of the girls.  We have had a lot of changes around here and I honestly was dreading the 1st day of school.  This week has extremely smooth!  Even with our trips to Watertown on Tuesdays and Thursdays, they have worked hard to get their work finished!  Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays have been our heavier days and Wednesday they surprised me with being done by 1.  I'm so proud of them!  They are amazing!

A package from Great Grandma and Great Grandpa...

The girls were really surprised and excited when a package showed up at the house from Great Grandma and Great Grandpa!

Marissa LOVES her yarn!!!

Madalyn brought her feather book to her great grandparents house last time we were there and a couple pages were ripping so Great Grandma to the rescue!!!

And she added to her feather collection!

We love you guys!  Thank you so much!  You made the girls' day!
