Hiking during the day...

There were 3 trails that we could hike and our original plan was to hike one a day and then hike our favorite with Doug on Saturday.  We only ended up hiking 2 of the 3, but they were beautiful!!!

As were hiking the North Rim Trail, we got just about here and Madalyn saw something.  I got a "Whoa, what was that?"  I asked her what she saw and she told me it looked like a bear.  I had my doubts that it was actually a bear, especially since we had the dogs with us and they hadn't given us any indication that anything was near by.  So we kept walking.  Within a few minutes, she stopped again.  This time she said it was the size of a human.  I told her maybe someone was being sneaky.  We kept walking, again taking rest in the fact that we had Molly and Chloe with us.  A couple more minutes went by and she asked if we heard that.  Neither Marissa nor I did, but Madalyn assured us that the "thing" she kept seeing sounds like a turkey.  At this point in time I just kinda giggled at her.  It was starting to sound pretty funny.  Suddenly she stops and says "Oh!  It looks like a bear, it's the size of a human, it sounds like a turkey, but its just a grey squirrel!"  LOL  We all got a good laugh out of that one!  I told her that is where the idea of Sasquatch came from!
The rest of our hike was pretty peaceful...

The girls decided they wanted to hike all the way to the dam.  This is what we found when we got there...

They also decided that they wanted to walk along this pathway to the other side.  After hiking over 2 miles to get here, I felt bad telling them no, so I sucked it up...even though the thing moved while I walked on it!

I drew my line at stopping to look over the edge!

So pretty!

God certainly made a beautiful land for us to enjoy!

Two things....I just can't get my head wrapped around the young lady Marissa has become AND that one picture with Madalyn's ponytail flying back and forth (envisioned) as she walks down the path. She cracks me up!
