The bi-annual strip out!

Those that know me, know that I'm an animal lover and will do anything for them, especially my own.  When we bought a Cairn 6 years ago, I was determined to try and keep her coat as natural as I could.  NOTE....this is NOT for everyone.
It takes about an hour and a half of my day, if I was to do it straight and thankfully, I have a VERY patient dog :)  She had to be after having 7 pups right?!  So anyhow, basically this process consists of pulling out the dead hair.  No, it doesn't bother her at all.  It helps her keep from shedding, keep her skin and coat healthy and remove the "stink" of a normal dog.  This time I decided to take before, during and after pictures :)  I get a kick out of them!

So here is Chloe before her stripping...

And here is her a little over halfway done!  LOL  I told Doug she looked like one of those balding men that still have a ton of bushies just in the back of their head!

The pile so far...

The end pile!
(That is her collar)

Crazy how its even the same dog!  She always runs around like a lunatic and acts like she is 4 months old again whenever I do this!

I say this almost every time but I'm going to say it again...I wish I was smart enough to invent a dog eye "fixer", kinda like our red eye fix!

And because I have serious OCD issues, this was the pile of dirt that was at the bottom of the hair pile after I cleaned it up!  So I guess she is cleaner too!  LOL
