I don't think I have ever shared Madalyn's cool plant with you all. Remember back when the girls has their birthdays and Marissa got a Venus Fly Trap plant? (Which FYI are NOT as easy to grow as you would think! I have since handed over one of my plants to Marissa that she can claim as her own.) Anyhow, Mrs. Jenkins showed up one day with this plant for Madalyn.
It's called a Sensitive Plant. Coolest thing EVER!
Although our's has kind of turned into more of a tree!
What do the flowers remind you of?
They remind us of the flower from Horton Hears a Who....the flower that holds the speck throughout the movie :)
So for any of you who don't know what a sensitive plant is....or why it is called that...this is why...See how the leaves are all spread out there in that picture? When you run your fingers along the leaves, or even touch the branch, the whole thing "wilts". It stays in that position for a bit and then pops back "to life!"
Here is a better picture...
Pretty cool huh? This post was all thanks to Madalyn...She wanted her plant on my blog ;)

Thanks for sharing your plant with us, Madalyn. And, yes, the flower reminded me of that found on Horton Hears A Who, too <3
