So I was folding laundry the other day. I had some clothes and a few towels that ended up in the same load. I left the room to put the clothes away in my bedroom and came back to this.
She somehow managed to pick up this one towel, still folded, and lay down with it.
All the kids did so good! I'm so thankful for the opportunity that I have to work with these kids. They all try with everything they have and that is just awesome to see!
Well I got all the onions planted yesterday. I have 2 blisters and a sore hand but I got them done! However, I didn't get to the pictures to edit them. We went and got our camper yesterday and it ended up taking a lot longer than we anticipated. And to top it all off, this morning we had some stuff to mess with so they didn't get done this morning either :( Excuses, excuses...I know, I know! LOL I don't have much planned for today so I added editing to my list. I need to do some sewing for church, edit the pictures and get the house ready for the weekend. We have another busy weekend a head of us. We are hoping to get the garden planted by the end of the weekend. Hopefully we can have a productive weekend even though there is a lot going on! Doug's best friend Mike and his boys are coming to spend the day with us on Saturday and I'm babysitting a couple extra kids for a while as well. Alright, I'm not getting anything accomplished sitting on here.
I have a ton of pictures to edit, upload and blog about. I would much rather be doing that today. However, we have about 200 onions to plant so instead I'm out doing that. We have so much going on right now and its exciting to see God work. Tonight we should be picking up our camper from the dealer now that the warranty work on it is finally done. The kids are anxious to get it back and I wouldn't be surprised if we end up sleeping in it tonight ;) I hope you all have a great day! I'll make a huge effort to get to those pictures edited and uploaded today/tonight/tomorrow morning so that I can write a good blog post for you all! Until then, I'm out doing boring adult things, because sometimes you have to do what you don't feel like doing! ;)
It's spring again and the chipmunks and squirrels are out and running around again. We have a chipmunk that has made a hole under our front porch and at least hides out there if he doesn't live under there. Then we have another one (or maybe its the same one) that has a hole on the side of the driveway/ garage. We have never seen or heard anything inside and I'm not convinced they aren't just planned hiding places from Chloe because when she isn't out there, they usually go back to the pine trees. However, yesterday I let her out and she caught him on the porch, instead of hiding in his hole. He usually beats her, heard her coming. He ran to the safety of this tree....or he thought it was safe anyhow!
Little did he know, Chloe has now mastered the art of climbing trees. This picture kind of gives you an idea how big the tree is ( I took this last year in the spring). Well she got desperate and used the growth under the tree to give her some leverage and up she went. Of course the chipmunk got away because HE is actually DESIGNED for climbing and well...dogs aren't supposed to climb trees! She did this 3 times yesterday and one of the times she made it half way up the tree! I stood there watching her in awe and dummy me I didn't go get my camera to video it. So there you have it....when obsessed enough, dogs can climb trees! ;)
This post is for me, for me to look back on as needed...
Ever notice how many verses there are in the Bible that command us to be patient, or wait on the Lord. Or even all the examples of men and women who God had wait for something He had either promised them or something they strongly desired. Part of the Christian walk is waiting on the Lord...without a deadline or a finalized plan.
Isaiah 40:31
"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
Psalm 27:14
"Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD."
Ever since Chloe came home to us from the breeder, she has had this stuffed dog that she cuddles with when she gets tired. Since getting Molly, we toss it on top of Chloe's crate (even though she is tall enough now it does still stop her) just to keep it out of Molly's way. Usually Chloe can stand on her hind feet and reach it, but the other day, it was right in the middle of the crate and she couldn't get it. So she did what made the most sense to her...she joined it ;)
I rescued her puppy so she could snuggle with it :)
Molly is growing like a weed! She has grown 12 inches since we brought her home. We are no longer crating her at night and she is loving that. We all get more sleep that way ;) We found out she had a UTI and are thinking that had a lot to do with her lack of sleep and amount of potty trips during the night. She is on round 2 of antibiotics and we are hoping we have it beat this time. Molly has recently started laying like this. I'm pretty sure she thinks she is part frog! LOL
Before I forget to mention it...the blanket Madalyn keeps wrapping herself up in was made for her bed in the camper by Grandma Benedict. She picked the colors out and Grandma got right to work. She is fast! I need to get a picture of both the girls with their blankets. For right now they are being stored here in the house, until we get the camper back and when they want to lay on the floor to watch a movie or take a nap, its the first blankets they grab! They love them and can't wait to use them in the camper!
(Hopefully sooner rather than later)
I was bad on getting the camera out first thing in the morning and didn't get pictures, but Grandma and Aunt Laurie came down and brought Madalyn her blanket and cards and added to her birthday stash for something big to purchase as well :) She can't wait to spend it, but "doesn't want to waste it" so she is thinking hard of something special. :)
Now onto the evening festivities....We waited for Daddy to get home from work to do presents and cake so the lighting is a little off since it was evening and we don't have good lighting in our living room. Anyhow, Grandma and Grandpa came down to join in, too and helped us eat some cake ;)
Of course we had to do presents first....she had been so patient all day!
She was very excited about the black rubber bands!
She had never seen Zinkies before ;)
I love this picture!
Madalyn and Grandma were figuring out the "house" together :)
See how little they are? She is holding one in her hand!
The set came with a magnifying glass and a pair of "pliers" so you could place the animals easier! I couldn't believe how little they were!
Marissa said we had to sing with the lights off. I wasn't going to upload this video because its so dark, but the candles look so cool!
Orange Jello Cake :)
I can't believe my little peanut is 7! I know you always say it feels like yesterday but it really does. We pulled out one of her preemie outfits that she was swimming in when we brought her home from the NICU and showed it to her. Absolutely crazy! I'm so thankful that today I have a healthy, growing, full of spunk, yet tender and loving little girl!
Madalyn's birthday morning started out just like Marissa's :) (Only a little later in the day)
By the time we got to it, Cari was at the house and Madalyn asked her if she would stay and have it with us.
I must say, its so awesome that I have the opportunity to pass on a tradition like this that my mom has been doing since she was a kid. I'm not sure if Grandma did it as well, or if she started it. I guess I'll have to find that out. The girls absolutely love it and look forward to it every year!
