Burnt Orange
Almost everyone that knows me, knows that I LOVE burnt orange. I have always said that before I die I want to own a burnt orange vehicle. Since the economy is in the dumps and I have no clue if that will ever happen, I then decided that I should paint a room in my house burnt orange. I decided I would go with the main bathroom when we got the time and money to be able to do it. Now to backtrack...our Lab/Coonhound, Case, got a UTI infection a couple months ago. He was having accidents in the house, which led to the discovery of the infection. I have cleaned, cleaned and cleaned some more. I borrowed an air purifier from Doug's mom and I thought that worked, but a couple days later the smell was back. We have in floor heat and I'm thinking that's what the problem was. When the heat wasn't on, the smell was gone, but when the heat came on, YUCK! So, Friday we finally decided the carpet needed to come up. It was just press board underneath but we didn't have the money for a new floor. We decided to paint it and burnt orange just happened to be the color that matched the current wallpaper! :) Here are some pictures of our disaster and then the finished project. The only thing that isn't done yet is the room isn't put back together yet. I want to make sure that the room is 100% dry so that stuff doesn't stick and glue to the floor!

Thanksgiving day
Everyone came to our house for Thanksgiving this year. Well at least my side of the family. Here is how our day went. We went down to Doug's parents house in the morning to let the girls play with their cousins that were up for a few hours. At 10am, we headed back home to start the turkey. Got that all ready and in the oven by 10:30. My parents and Chelsea arrived a little after 11...both girls were already napping which proved to be a good thing!
I didn't get a picture of Madalyn sleeping, but Marissa looked so cute all cuddled up in her blanket after her bath that I couldn't help myself! Caleb and Cristale got to our place around 12:30 or so and we hung out till 2, when we ate. The kids woke up and were raring to go. We ate and then Uncle Caleb and Aunt Chelsea decided to work off their lunch!
We had an awesome time together as a family. Of course we missed those that couldn't make it but I'm thankful for the family that was here!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving!
I'm so blessed to be married to my best friend for going on 5 years. Each and every day I wake up with him next to me...ok maybe not next to me since he is already at the barn milking but you get the point...is such an answer to prayer. Today there are so many messed up relationships and yet here I am blessed with such an awesome man.
I'm also so thankful for my two girls. They bring so much excitement and entertainment to life. I love how attached they are to us and how much they enjoy helping with the smallest tasks.
I'm thankful I have the opportunity to be a stay at home mom and wife.
I'm thankful we have a house to live in and a job to support us.
I'm thankful for this free country that we live in.
I'm thankful for my family.
I'm thankful for all the new friends I have made of over the past few years.
I'm thankful for a growing church family.
I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Goofballs!
Grandma and Grandpa Geiger were here on my birthday and brought us an awesome gift. This is as close to the real thing that I could find to show you!
It's a snowman kit and all you need to add is snow! It has to be one of the cutest things I have ever seen. There is only one problem with it...the girls are dying for it to snow now! Every morning the first thing they do is look out the window and ask if it has snowed yet. Since it hasn't snowed yet and the kids are impatient, they decided in improvise and turn each other into snowmen.
Happy birthday to me!
Did I ever mention I have an AWESOME husband? Well just in case I didn't...haha! Doug took off last week the day before my birthday and the day of. Thursday the 19th of November, we went to Utica as a family. I had to get my eyes checked and ordered new contacts, lenses and frames. (I'll post pictures of my new glasses when I get them!) We got all our Christmas shopping done, which I was very tempted to find pictures of what we got and post them, but that would take all the fun out of the suspense Christmas brings now wouldn't it! Friday Doug invited a couple friends over for lasagna, which he made and some pie/cake. He made the peach pie (my favorite) with a little help from my mom. It turned out great!
He also used his skills and decorated my cake. I think he did a great job. He even practiced doing different designs on stuff before he tried putting it on the cake. He had alot of fun I could tell!
I'm an old fart now! LOL

Shhhh!
The embarrassing stage has hit apparently! We were sitting in the doctors office this morning waiting for Doug to get his allergy shot. The girls were looking at magazines very quietly and being very good.
Marissa: "Daddy, this guy is yucky."
Daddy: "Why do you say that?"Marissa: "He has mud all over his face and arms...he needs a bath!"
Boy am I glad we were the only ones in there!
Another funny story...Keep in mind that we have somewhere around 300 black/white Holsteins all tagged with ear tags.
Madalyn: "Mommy, where's my cow?"
Mommy: "Your cow? What does she look like?"
Madalyn: "She is white with black spots and has earrings."
Mommy: "Umm, I'm not sure...Maybe Daddy has seen her."

The rest of the Birthday post

It's birthday time again!
My best friend turned 29 today!
Isn't he handsome? ;) LOL I love him with my whole heart and am so thankful that I get the opportunity to call him my husband, best friend and the father to our kids! I can't wait to see what the rest of our years together bring.
This is the cake the girls and I baked. Its the first time I have tried anything special with a cake, so I can't wait to taste it and see if its as good as it looks!
Our local radio station does birthday announcements every morning. Then they draw a name out of the birthdays and that person gets a free Big Mac. Doug and I won last year when Ryan Fitzgerald put our names in. This year I put Doug's in from the girls and I and he won again! I hope that means I'm going to win when its my turn!

Awesome night!
Last night...
With Doug's schedule at the barn, it makes it really tough to have a night out let alone a night with another couple. We don't get days off at this point in time and its getting tougher to find someone to cover for us. A new couple just recently started coming to our church. They have 4 kids and are based out of Fort Drum. Aubrey and I hit at off pretty quickly, but the guys haven't had time to really talk. Last night they invited us over despite having to eat dinner around 7:30. We exchanged stories, laughed A LOT and just had an awesome time of fellowship. Doug told me not to get too attached...as they have the possibility of being re-stationed anywhere. LOL Too late. Aubrey is starting a book club and I can't wait to see where that goes. I'm excited to get to know some ladies a little bit better and spend some time of fellowship once a month.
Today...
After morning chores are finished this morning, Doug and I have a meeting with Farm Credit (the place that holds the financing for the farm and our house) along with Mom and Dad. Its in Watertown and they feed us lunch and do a presentation and all. Aunt Beth is working a bit this morning but still offered to take the kids. So we are dropping them off at the sale barn on the way through and then they get to spend the afternoon with her. They are pretty excited. I think they are getting the better end of the deal here! Hope everyone has a great day!!! Oh and here is a conversation I had with Madalyn this morning to start your day off...

Me: "No, not today...tomorrow night we can go. Today you are going to Aunt Beth's house!"
Marissa: "Where are you and Daddy going?"
Madalyn: "You can't go to church without me!"
