Amazing...

...the only way to describe this weekend!  Saturday morning started out great.  We set our alarms, got up early, and tackled a good bit of the bathroom floor.  It was most exciting because we found a good system that really had us cookin' ! :)  Then we met Mom and Dad for breakfast and that was followed up by a very fun filled afternoon/evening!  I don't think I have ever laughed so much.  I shouldn't have put makeup on that morning because it was all running by the time we were done! LOL  Sunday we had a great morning at church and then we headed out to get our camper.  I wasn't stressed about its condition, but I was very curious.  Thankfully it's perfect!  No leaks, no rodents, no mess....God is good!  

After I get my pictures and videos edited and uploaded today, I'll have a more detailed post for you tomorrow on our shenanigans!  Until then, I hope you all have a great day today!

No time

So I don't really have time to blog today.  So I'm just going to jump on fast and day I hope you all have an awesome weekend!  Mine is going to be for sure because my parents are coming Saturday to spend the day with us!  In the meantime I got some more of the state tests accomplished, my house cleaned and laundry done this morning.  I still need to fold up the huge tarp we covered the garden with last night, finish mowing and then string trim the yard.  Then we have hair appointments this afternoon!  Talk to you all Monday!

Thankful!

Since we planted so early this year, we knew that there were going to be times we were going to have to cover our plants to protect them from potential frost.  Last night was one of those nights.  It took a while to get the garden covered with our massive tarp while fight the wind a little bit, but I got the job done thanks to the help of Doug's dad.  I'll be honest, I was a little worried about it.  I know worst case scenario we would just replant, but I didn't really want to do that.  This morning I got up and after letting it warm up a little bit, I headed out to un-tarp it.   As I lifted the tarp all this heat pushed out.  The plants actually look better than they did before we covered it last night!  I think it worked like a greenhouse type for the plants.  I'm so thankful!  God is good even in the little things!  

This is what happens when...

...you try and make banana bread too late in the evening and fall asleep before its done baking...

Its hard and I can't even begin to tell you how the house smelled!  The smell is actually what woke me up.  For the life of me I can't remember if I forgot to set the timer on the oven, or if I just slept through it.  Either way, so much for fresh banana bread this morning!  Instead I have a loaf that is so bad I can knock on it!

After the kids were finished with day one of their state tests and Lily had gone home, they started unloading stuff into the living room.  I had no clue what they were doing, I just knew they were having a blast doing it.  With it yucky outside and us kind of being homebound with Molly for another week + yet, whatever was going to keep them entertained was fine by me!

After an hour or so of "building", their forts were done!  

...And then the balls started flying!  It was so funny to listen to them setting up rules for the game.  I know I have said it before, but I love their imaginations!  

Our weekend

What a beautiful weekend!  We have had gorgeous weather here lately!  We could use some rain, but hey I'm not complaining in the least bit!  Saturday we were able to head to the local greenhouse and get plants for our garden.  We are really early for us, and probably early for everyone else too, but we are feeling daring this year. ;)   Hopefully it pays off and we don't regret it.  We have a couple more things to plant but the majority of everything is in there.  

Saturday night we started laying tile in the bathroom.  We were both really hoping to get more done than we did, but since it was nice, there were just more important things to get done outside.  I was really thinking this bathroom was going to go a little faster...oh well!  It will get done when it gets done I guess.  

Sunday was Mother's Day of course and it was also  Doug's Mom's birthday.  We were going to bow out on lunch since we wanted to work on the bathroom, but Doug decided we shouldn't.  We had a nice lunch and enjoyed some more time outside.  

Molly is still doing well with her surgery and is healing very nicely!  

I'm very thankful for that!

This morning we started day one of our state tests for homeschooling.  So far its going really well.  after this week we will be totally done with school!  Hopefully soon we will make plans to go get the camper and we can start heading out :)  I can't wait!

Update on Molly

Yesterday was a rough 2nd day.  Molly was still in a lot of pain.  She couldn't walk without waddling, couldn't get comfortable when laying down, and was doing quite a bit of bleeding both when peeing and also from her incision.  Our amazing vet made a house call last night and popped 4 more staples in her incision, and brought me an antibiotic for her irritated kidney to prevent it from turning into an infection. 

 Today is a whole other story....

She is having no problems getting comfortable today!  She is peppy and doesn't seem to be bothered at all.  The only down side to this is that we have to keep her quiet and she is feeling good so she wants to run around a bit.  We have been keeping the bedroom doors closed so she can't jump on the beds, taking her out on a leash so she doesn't run, and using the command "Easy" a LOT!  LOL  

Her incision has slowed on the bleeding and she isn't peeing blood at all today!  So thankful!  Definitely was just due to that irritated kidney and nothing more than that.  The 4 extra staples have helped hold the incision together a little better and therefore that is looking better today too!

Thankful for a healthy pup today!!!

Best Day EVER!

Molly was scheduled for her spay/tack surgery yesterday.  Can I just stop and say that it's crazy to me that she is just shy of 18 months already?!  Anyhow, our vet and I have an awesome relationship and I got permission to scrub in for her surgery.  It was hands down probably one of the best days ever.  I'm a huge researcher, but also very visual.  I've done a lot of research on this breed, but it was awesome to actually see it all in person and get a better perspective on what it all looks like.  Molly did fabulous and the vet was really happy that I scrubbed in because there was a few bumps and I was able to assist.  I was able to stay with her while she was waking up and she never freaked out or panicked.  Once she woke up enough to move her head, she turned her head and caught a glimpse of me and then laid back down.  She woke up real slow and easy.  She actually ended up just hanging out with the vets and technicians all day and was totally content to stay put.  I was already in love with our vets, but after spending the day there, I have nothing but good things to say about them.  They are just a big family that really cares about each and every animal that walks in there.  I'm so thankful to have this step done and thrilled that it went so well.  I can't wait to go get her tomorrow!

On the down side, Chloe is in full out mourning.  I feel so bad for her!  There is no way to explain to her that she will see Molly tomorrow, but how I wish I could! :(  She is going to be one happy puppy tomorrow!  The good news is, there is no question that she loves her "little" sister!

Taking a break...

Saturday, while we were waiting for the floor leveling compound to dry, we took a break.  We decided a bike ride was needed and we all chose to go to Boonville and ride the trail along side the canal!  First time having 4 big bikes on the new rack!

Oh My Goodness!  It was beautiful!  You can make it as long or as short of a ride as you want to.  We went quite a ways, but ended up cutting it short because Madalyn got a blister and Grandpa Geiger's awesome wallet was no where to be found ;) and my bike dropped a bunch of gears and I could no longer use them!  

Since we had "lupper" before we left for our little outing, we decided to get ice cream on the way home!  The girls were so excited!  I think next time Grandpa and Grandma Geiger are in the area, we will have to take them here!  

We had to get a picture in the giant chair, but of course the sun was right in their eyes :)

They both took the trail like a champ and kept up no problem!  We can't wait to go back again!

Birthday celebrations!

 Marissa's birthday was a crazy day!  Something was going on at school so Elementary and Middle school was out, but teachers still had to report.  So we had a play day at my house!  Cari came up to help out and keep me sane :)  Here is our crew.... (minus the 2 little ones...they were sleeping!)

Everyone was so good and they all really played well together.  Between naps and kids playing good, I got Marissa's desert and dinner made and put in the fridge and freezer.  This year she wanted mac n cheese, raw baby carrots and frozen peanut butter cupcakes.  All the kids were picked up by 4:30 and I was able to get the house cleaned up and dinner cooked right on time.  After dinner, Doug's mom and I had to take a crew to the rabies clinic.  The girls stayed and played a game while Doug and his Dad took the snowblower and weights off the tractor and put on the mower deck.  When we got back, desert was on the menu!

We couldn't get these candles to stay lit, but when it came to blowing them out she needed a second go at it!

She was spoiled throughout the day, but due to all the craziness, I failed in the camera department.  Thank you to all her made her day special!!!  She is still deciding what she is going to spend her birthday money on!
