Bible Club

One of the ladies in our church had a passion and started the processes for a Bible Club in our local elementary school.  Surprisingly, even though we were told by a few that it probably wouldn't be granted permission or that it would take a while, after just one week, we were in.  We have two weeks under our belt now and all I can say is God is good.  We had 25 kids show up the first week, 28 show up the second and we now have over 31 signed up for next Tuesday!   We are starting to wonder where we are going to put the kids if too much more show up.  That is a good problem to have though right?  The kids were so good and listened to the story so much better than I expected them to after a full day of school already under their belt.  They were interactive and genuinely seemed to enjoy themselves.  We have had a grandparent attend along with her grandson and had good feedback from some parents.  One of the little girls that attends has even started coming to church!  She is a little spitfire and we enjoy having her :)  I was hesitant to get going with this, because so often I feel maxed up, but man when you are doing something great for God, He makes the time and provides the patience needed!  I thank God for the opportunity to serve with some more young people and can't wait to see what He has in store for this club.
Next on the list of musts ..... learn their names!!! ;)

Sisters

Marissa was up earlier than Madalyn as usual one morning.
Madalyn woke up and Marissa disappeared.  They both reappeared like this :)
Way too cute!
She is such a great big sister :)

Winter fun on New Years Day

What a better way to spend a snowy day off of school than with friends, playing in the snow!

They were so cute, helping each other up the pile!

Who needs sleds, when you have butts?! ;)

Unexpected visitor...

We found this guy hanging out in the field across the street from our house.  We thought it was a turkey at first till Doug went and got the camera and zoomed in on him.  So awesome!!!

He is beautiful and so perfect!

A big project!

There are some pretty big changes that we have coming and it all started with the sale of our old wood boiler.  We haven't used it in 3 years, after replacing it with a propane boiler.  So we listed it on Craiglist and sold it to a man from New York City area.  So then the big job of getting it out of our basement.  It is no small boiler...weighing in somewhere around 1800lbs.

This was about the time where Madalyn asked why we didn't do this when it was warm outside ;)

Quick break to help Madalyn who is very stuck in her jacket...

It's out!

It actually went a lot smoother than I thought it was going to.

The buyer showed up on time, with the required money and the loading process began.  The owner of the backhoe had to leave so Doug actually loaded it.  Again everything went smooth.

Shortly after loading it they were on their way!  We haven't heard anything since then so I'm guessing no news is good news :)
Stayed tuned for our exciting news soon!
FYI this is not a hidden announcement that out house has sold :)
If that day ever comes I won't beat around the bush!

Auntie Alicia strikes again ;)

I think every year since Marissa was born the girls have received a package from Auntie Alicia.  She always sends them an ornament and the girls look forward to see what part of the collection they got that year.  This year they were super excited about the cow wrapping paper ;)

Thank you Auntie Alicia!!!
