A long awaited trip to the zoo

For the past couple years we have been trying to get to the Syracuse Zoo.  Well we finally made it.  We took another couple with us.  We had a blast!  It was a beautiful day and the company just added to the day!  Here are some pictures of our adventures!
(Madalyn wasn't sure she wanted a part of it)

 (Marissa, Junior, and Jennifer)

(Finally got all the kids!  Jennifer, Junior, Marissa and Madalyn)

We weren't ready to head for home yet after we had finished walking through the entire zoo so we asked where the nearest playground was.  We found one right around the corner and the fun continued!
(No one explained to the girls how this is suppose to work!)

(Jr. trying to climb like the big kids)

(Jennifer was too tired from the zoo to play)

( Jesse wanted part of the fun too!)

 (Look, no hands!)

(Conquered it!)

Thank God for Aunt Katie!

"Aunt Katie" is a VERY close friend.  Too close for the kids to call her Ms. Katie so she refers to me as "Aunt Sarah" and I refer to her as "Aunt Katie".  She always gets the kids a gift for their birthdays and its alway so unique...this year was over the top!  She got the kids body paint that is actually soap.  I told the kids to only use a little and this is what I found...

Then she got them these tablets that change the bath water.
You can even mix two different colors to make a new color!

These matching dresses were the icing on the cake.  The girls love to match!  Of course it took three takes to get a picture that I like!  LOL

Madalyn's Birthday!

I can't believe that my teeny tiny preemie is 4!  This is getting crazy.  This year's birthday's have really set me back.  My babies are growing up too fast!  Madalyn still wants to do everything Marissa does.  Therefore we went down the Calico Critters pathway with her too!

Marissa's Birthday!

Marissa is 6!  Someone pinch me now!  I just can't believe it.  She is growing up to be such a little lady.  This year we started in on a family tradition of mine and we had a hot chocolate party!  The girls LOVED it!  We of course had to have guests so we invited Grandma and Grandpa Benedict and Aunt Laurie down to enjoy to.

Then of course it was presents time!
Whoever invented Calico Critters was a very smart person!  Such a  hit!

Later we had friends over for ice cream and the girls wanted to share their "tea" party experience with their friends!  So they tried to re-create it.  They did a good job and it was so cute!

Finally!!!

I did it!  These are pictures from when my parents were here for the girls birthdays.  Mom made both these cakes for the girls and although I'm pretty sure half of them went in the trash because we don't eat that much sweet junk food, the girls LOVED them!  They got to decorate them themselves and they just had a blast!  They also each got to pick out their own cake that they wanted Grandma to make for them.  She did such a good job on them ;)

Present time!  Mom and Dad got the kids "Hermie" movies by Max Lucado and they were a big hit!

They also got Calico Critters galore this year!
It's been a great time waster and the kids love it!

My goal today is to edit Marissa and Madalyn's birthday pictures and all the other pictures I have waiting and start blogging again!  Beware...picture overload is coming!  I'm sorry for slacking!
